Nourishing your pet with the utmost degree of vitamins and minerals that his body requires is significant. Otherwise, your beloved cat or dog wouldn’t be able to follow the normal growth range. There are also tendencies for your dog to be too irritable or extremely laid back when he’s not fed appropriately with high protein dog food. For your pet to function mentally and physically, you must follow certain scheduling when to feed him. You can’t just feed with anything you think might be stomach-filling. It’s a must that you nourish him with protein-loaded food that enhances his bone and muscle development while enhancing his brain functionality.

Of course, wellness of your dog is as important as your own. If you are what you eat, your dog is the same. Whatever dog takes in will manifest in the way he behaves, moves and copes with the environment. High protein dog food is necessary for your dog because it practically suffice his nutritional needs. An ultimately high in protein food is formulated by nutritionists and food makers as regulated by the Association of American Feed Control Officials. If your dog is the energetic and responsive type, then he must be fed with meat and bone meals. His food component should also contain a bit of fiber, carbohydrate and good fat in order to level up his pyramid of nutritional requirements.

An ideal high protein dog food must contain whole grain ground wheat, poultry digest, soybeans, salt, minerals, cultured yeast, beet pulp, poultry fat, vitamins A, D3, B12 and E, folic acid, ground corn and poultry bi-product. These ingredients complement the active lifestyle of your dog. If you are unaware of exactness in terms of pet nutrition, you must consult the veterinarian. Aside from protein-rich food, you can also apply the holistic way of feeding dry dog food. Mother Nature would always be pleased to know that you are actually not dependent on artificial foodstuff for your pets. Human grade ingredients are being used while avoiding to some fancy preservatives. Raw feeding philosophy is relevant to the clich

It’s about time you placed your life at a premium. A good life isn’t just about the quantity of life, it’s also about the quality of life. Think about it: you don’t want to be bedridden or a vegetable for the remaining years of your life. You want to be able to live long enough so that you can enjoy the fruits of your labor and your life up close and not on the bed. Of course there are several ways to keep you healthy, the two main things being a healthy diet, and of course, exercise. But there’s nothing wrong with going the extra mile for your health. That can be achieved with the right nutritional and dietary supplements that helps keep your body fit. Supplements make sure that your body has enough of the vitamins it needs to keep functioning at the optimum. Vitamins are natural organic compounds so there’s no danger of consuming supplements that are synthesized and artificial. Everything is pulled from mother nature — plants, specifically, which are basically the only living creatures with the ability to manufacture their own food. We cannot, so we must rely on outside sources to keep ourselves healthy. Of course, we must exercise caution and exercise awareness of what we are taking in and how our intake affects our body.

For vitamins there’s a recommended dietary allowance which differs according to age and state of health. For example, a pregnant woman might be asked to take in specific vitamins to make sure that the fetus develops as healthy as possible with the least possible complications. Also, vitamin deficiencies occur from a nutritionally imbalanced diet. Let’s face it, in a world of processed foods, it’s hard to keep healthy. Vitamin supplements help curb the nutritional imbalance. To know if you are eating well enough, and to pinpoint the specific vitamins your body lacks, the best way is through a blood test. For most people, nutritional supplements that you take everyday and that come with all the basic vitamins and minerals is good enough. There’s no need for a blood test to do this. For others, however, there may already be bodily symptoms that express a certain deficiency. It’s always good to be reminded that an ounce of prevention is definitely worth more than a pound of cure. And prevention can be as simple as swallowing pills packed with vitamins. There have been millions of cases of heart disease and cancer that could’ve been prevented by a simple vitamin.

There is really nothing that can replace a healthy diet as good as — well, a healthy diet. Healthy meals of organic fruits and vegetables will definitely cost less in the long run, besides. However, nutritional supplements still play an important role aside from giving you “very expensive urine.” The human body requires at least 40 essential micronutrients which a healthy diet alone cannot supply.
Of course, too much of a good thing is — bad. You actually might just end up producing “really expensive urine.” It can help prevent cancer and heart disease, but too much of it will not only turn you a shade of yellow or orange, but in some cases can give you liver disease. So make sure to consult a physician to get the best combination of nutritional supplements that will best augment your body.

Fruits and vegetables are known to protect people against lung, oral, esophageal, stomach, and colon cancer. The data that supports this statement has been borne out by a number of studies.

In fact, fruits and vegetables are the best source of vitamins and minerals, including antioxidants. These healthful compounds probably work best in combination. Because we don’t know which of the many compounds in these foods are most helpful, the American Cancer Society advises the public to eat at least five assorted servings of produce per day.

Vitamin Supplements

It’s easier to persuade people to take vitamin pill supplements to fulfill their daily requirements than it is to convince them to change their diets. Yet, vitamin pills often contain only a fraction of what is capable of being assimilated by the body when compared to fruits and vegetables. Furthermore, there are likely to be significant compounds in the whole foods we have not yet identified, and therefore, cannot add to supplement pills.

Clinical Studies of Supplements

A study was performed to determine the benefits of beta-carotene and retinol (types of vitamin A) in lung cancer risk reduction. Ironically, the study found that beta-carotene and retinol supplements actually increased the lung cancer risk, especially among smokers.

To more carefully evaluate the relationship, the researchers undertook another study to evaluate vitamin supplements and several types of cancer, with the focus being on lung cancer.

The study group consisted of 77, 721 men and women aged 50 to 76 who lived in the state of Washington. Participants completed a 24-page survey on the kind of vitamin supplements, dose, and duration of use over the prior ten years. The cancer registry monitored the subjects of the study for the development of lung cancer over a nearly four-year period.

Summary of Findings

The investigators found 521 cases of lung cancer. Adjusting for risk factors for lung cancer, namely smoking, age, sex, previous cancer history, and other lung disease including a history of prior lung cancer, the researchers found the following:

There are eight B vitamins in vitamin B complex as well as several related substances. The eight vitamins are thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), pyridoxine (B6), cobalamine (B12), folic acid, pantothenic acid and biotin. The other related substances include choline, inositol and para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA).

Although each individual vitamin or related substance performs a different function in the body, they all work together to maintain good health and vitality. A well balanced diet should provide us with all the B vitamins we require, but because they are water soluble and therefore not retained by the body, we need a daily dietary source.

The majority of multivitamin and mineral supplements contain B-complex vitamins as well as other essential vitamins and minerals. Since multivitamin/mineral supplements are more complete than B-complex vitamins by themselves, multivitamin-mineral supplements are usually recommended to prevent deficiencies over individual vitamin supplements.

The Vitamin B Complex is essential for correct RNA and DNA synthesis and cell reproduction. As our Skin, Hair and Nails are constantly growing and renewing themselves we need the following B vitamins to ensure the good health of these structures – Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B9, Vitamin B12, Biotin and Choline. Deficiencies of any of these B Vitamins can lead to dry, grey skin, dermatitis, wrinkles, acne, rashes, falling hair and weak, splitting nails.

B1, known as thiamine, serves as a catalyst in carbohydrate metabolism and helps synthesize nerve-regulating substances. Deficiency can cause heart swelling, leg cramps, and muscular weakness. Rich food sources high in thiamine include liver, heart, and kidney meats, eggs, leafy green vegetables, nuts, legumes, berries, wheat germs, and enriched cereals. The Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) is 1.5 mg. Some believe thiamine helps protect against alcoholism and that it is good for depression, stress, and anxiety. It is also said to improve mental ability and to help indigestion.

Most B-complex vitamins work together in synergy to provide a number of health benefits for the body. In general, they have been shown to enhance the nervous system and immune function, bolster metabolism, promote cell growth and division-including red blood cells which prevent anemia, and maintain healthy skin and muscle tone. They also work together to help combat stress, fatigue, depression, and cardiovascular disease.

The B-12 vitamin is of note because it is not available from plant products, making B-12 deficiency a concern for vegans. Manufacturers of plant-based foods will sometimes report B-12 content, leading to confusion about what sources yield B-12. The confusion arises because the standard US Pharmacopeia (USP) method for measuring the B-12 content does not measure the B-12 directly. Instead, it measures a bacterial response to the food.

Chemical variants of the B-12 vitamin found in plant sources are active for bacteria, but cannot be used by the human body. This same phenomenon can cause significant over-reporting of B-12 content in other types of foods as well.

The age of an individual will determine how much vitamin B complex they will take. There are several good benefits you can receive by taking vitamin B complex. Nervousness and pressure can be lessened if you take vitamin B complex. If you suffer from tiredness this can be reduced by taking vitamin B complex. In addition, a regular intake of vitamin B complex can help individuals recover sooner from sickness.
