Learning More About The Budwig Diet

The Budwig Diet was created by Dr. Johanna Budwig who was a biochemist from Germany who made many outstanding discoveries in her pursuit in finding a cure for cancer.

Dr. Budwig did much research and analysis into the blood of cancer patients and found that the blood was deficient in lipoproteins, phosphatides and Omega 3 oils.

Johanna Budwig realised through her testing that the over eating of processed foods, prevalent in most modern diets and excessive hydrogenated oil intake, was one of the major causes of cancer. She was determined to find a cure and many believe that she did just that.

The Budwig diet is not an easy diet to stick to. It is very strict and must be followed completely. Glucose and sugar is strictly not allowed.

The main ingredients of the diet is flaxseed oil and budwig cottage cheese which his also known as quark. These ingredients were chosen for a number of reasons but mainly because cottage cheese or quark contains a lot of proteins and flaxseed oil because of its high levels of Omega 3 oil. Both of these are key ingredients within the diet.

The Budwig diet protocol has had much success. Dr. Budwig herself lived until she was 98 years old, so you could say that she if anyone, knew exactly what it took to live to an old age.

The diet has not just been effective in the treatment of cancer. It has also had much success with other chronic and serious illnesses including heart disease, arthritis, psoriasis, eczema and multiple sclerosis. Dr Budwig treated many people who were close to death and who had lost hope.

Is the Budwig diet a miracle cure? Maybe or maybe not. One thing that cannot be denied, is that there are many people who have overcome the illnesses mentioned above when all hope was lost. What with the poor success rate of conventional treatments(on average 3%) there can be no doubt that the Budwig diet is definitely worth reviewing as an alternative approach.
